Sox Music...

Featured Replies

Some of these are more comical than anything...but who cares...whatever drives the unwanted Cub fans out of there...

1. Let's Go Go Go White Sox!

by Captain Stubby and the Buccaneers (1959)

2. Go Sox! by Pell Mell and the Bleacher Boys

3. Go Go Go Sox Go Go! with Sox announcer Bob Elson (1960)

4. '59 Fever (Winnin' Ugly) by Stormy Weather (1983)

5. Na Na Hey Hey, Good Bye! with Sox announcer Harry Caray (1977)

6. Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Good Bye by Steam

Today it's a stadium anthem throughout America, but the tradition started with Nancy Faust and Sox fans at Old Comiskey Park in 1977--just like all of Chicago's best baseball traditions

7. Take Me Out to the Ballgame – Nancy Faust’s Organ

8. Na Na Hey Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye – Nancy Faust’s Organ

9. Talkin' Baseball (the South Side & the Sox) (1984)

I always liked having "runaround Sue" like the used to play after pitching changes.

Also a good songs to have on any Sox CD are "My kind of town" and "Sweet Home Chicago"

good suggestions...

There's also a song by the Rolling Stones called "Winning Ugly" off their Dirty Work album.

As a kid in the early 80s I vividly remember Nancy always following up Take Me Out to the Ballgame with the theme from the Mickey Mouse Club for the 7th inning stretch. When did she begin and when did she stop that?

I remember that as a kid in the 80's as well. "M-I-C...."

And DEFINATLELY better than when they started doing YMCA :puke

general question here:

in the new introduction video before the game (the one with all the old highlights and such......before thunderstruck)

what is that song?

i'd love to have that video.

runaround sue is a great choice. having never been to chicago, i've never seen it in that context.

but i always picture little big league when i hear it (yeah, yeah, a f***ing twins movie. but hey, they did lose in the end!)

you should get "center field" on that disc my man.

I believe the music to the new video before the game is the theme from Pirates of the Carribean.

As for Sox songs, how about the Steve Dahl White Sox Song released in '93 when the Sox won the division? A little cheesy and not that great, but when I was a kid I loved it at the time. :P

It was kind of video montage of famous Sox stars, past and present, that was shown on the scoreboard when the Sox would take the field. I think it was back in 2000. It was a pretty cool song accompanying it.

Why don't you put "Lonely" by Akon on there? Thats what they play when the opponent's pitching coach comes out.
