Twins fans do the darndest things.....

Featured Replies

So I'm watching the Twins game tonight on the dish, enjoying the 8-1 beatdown they are getting.

Anyways, the Detroit batter hits a long foul ball down the line (it was clearly foul) and some Twins fan catches the ball, AND THROWS THE DAMN BALL BACK ONTO THE FIELD!!!

Some security guy you could see on camera before it went back to the game went to the guy, almost looking like he was saying "WTF man!"

And I thought Cubs fans were dumb.....and no i'm not making any of this up.

I've lived in Minneapolis for a long time, and one bad thing about Minnesota sports fans (in any sport, really) is that they are unoriginal. Cubs fans start throwing HR balls back? Three or four years later, Twins fans throw 'em back. Badger student section shouts "Left, Right," etc. to a opponent who fouls out? Three or four years later, Gopher students do the same. I cannot remember a time when I have heard groups of Minny fans come up with something that others put to use elsewhere.

Many of the fans are knowledgable (the idiot in question last night was obviously not), and some of them are as dumb as a post.

it is the dumb ones that define you, everyone else in the country thinks sox fans are crazy ump beaters

I never understood the whole throwing the ball back thing anyway

Its a souvenier! If you dont want it, just give it to a kid who will enjoy it more and for longer than the chuckle you and your friend get for trowing back the ball

Hell, Cubs fans are know to have a ball stashed away somewhere and they throw that one back and keep the game ball

Look at the list of ads and click on "Throw it back". It's under "Win or Die Trying" and above "Hottie Scottie".

I always thought it was pretty stupid to throw back a baseball. My uncle caught a Harold Baines foul ball one year at the old park and you would have thought he had won the lottery he was so happy. and that's a grown man.

I have a friend who was covering Red Sox spring training this spring in Fort Myers. I had him swipe a Red Sox BP ball for me. I gave it to my nephew, but being 15 months old he just tried to eat it.

We are.

this reminds me of the little kid who was handed a foul ball by a security guy, and promptly threw it back onto the field. it was funny, the kid's dad had the "What the hell are you doing?" face going.
