How far do those things travel? I seem to think only like 30-40 yards.

I'm thinking about the max they travel is 70 feet, but you have all kinds of stuff going on at track meets right next to each other. Someone else on the board has an avatar of a guy doing the long jump with a stray female track person that walks in the way and gets smashed. I'm suprised more stuff like this doesn't happen, track meets are pretty nuts and chaotic, atleast they can be.

The guy makes it to 77, only to go out like THAT. f***.

The womens world record is 22.63m (24 yards). So I'd say at max it went 20 yards. The basic idea is that you have to pay attention at all times at a track meet, and 77 year old men are not always the most aware, nor are they the quickest to react.

My school didn't have the javelin because of the risk of danger.
