Sign him to a incentive laden contract..... simple as that. I loved him while with the injuns..... but that was awhile ago unfortunately.

Hell no! He can go and rot in the same place Todd Ritchie can go and rot! We need good proven veterans who have had RECENT pitching success right now. Unfortunately, the first step to doing so is hiring a new GM.

Bring him in. Put him in the minors and give the kid a shot. He's still not super hold and why not pick him up to a cheap incentive laden deal.

 

The guy could turn into a stud reliever or something, you never know.

Michelle, you don't realize it. I'm not promising him a major league job and whats it hurt to see if he can make a comeback. If he comes back at half the form he was when he was healthy then we'd be getting a good player something you can never have to many of.

 

If he fails, then he fails and we lose nothing, NOTHING.

 

It was just like signing Simas. It isn't a promise at making the majors, its giving a guy a chance and if anyone gets hurt at the major league level, then you have immediate depth in the minors.

Our pen is good right now. Foulke, Marte, Osuna, Glover, Biddle, Wunsch is one of the deepest bullpens in baseball and if anything happens we also have guys like Porzio, Rauch, Almonte, and Valentine, as well as Royce Ring off in the distance.

aint going to happen or cleveland would have already done it hurting as they are...........i still say if we get anyone it must be someone whos proven a winner .......your missing the real point here.. that being that if jr wants to truely bring us a winner then why test wright when he can get a clemens type ...........besides with the arms we have for a wright role down in the minors we dont need him at all really.........he would just be wasting space and taking up someone elses chances to move along the system........

I'm sure Cleveland would have liked to keep him, but his option for this year was 6mil and they couldn't afford to keep him. And like women usually do your taking what me and jason are saying and forming your own conclusions. I'm not sure about Jason but I would sign Wright to a minor league contract and then sign Clemens or Maddog. And the claim that he would be "taking up someones space" is a joke. at Charlotte there are a bunch of guys who are just career minor leaguers and wont be playing in the majors. He wont "take up space"

The reason he's not back in Cleveland is because of how much they would of had to pay him, therefor they declined his option, kind of like how we declined David Wells option cause we didn't want to pay him all that money.

I'd much rather see the Sox pick up Jamie Moyer or Robert Person (who used to be in our farm system,if I remember correctly).I also think that shoulder's got a little too much mileage on it for me.

I'm not implying just Jaret Wright, I"d be pissed if we only got him, but bring him here and then go out and land one of the bigger fish. Don't even expect Wright to amount to a damn thing, but give him a shot, you never know what happens.
