Does anyone remember how bad it was in 2002? I was 20 y/o and pumped when the sox had that hot start . I was pumped. I remember Killing Cleveland in april ( I believe mags hit a GS) Cleveland was minny back then. Minny was respect more as the season went on.

Anyone remember how bad it was?

- We started like 16-9 or something to that nature. Once May hit, I remember when Mike cameron hit 4 HRS in a game vs us . We also gave up 20 runs or so to anaheim.

_ remember paulies hot start? He played injured and had 1 hr in about a month. That slump continued until 2004. (glad I didnt play fantasy baseball that year) (though I still carry Uribe :bang )

Food -for- thought (to appreciate this year even more.) I am so f***ing grateful now LOL

Yes I remember that. Makes me very sad. We should've won the division that year with Kenny and Ray batting 1 and 2. Frank had a terrible year though and we had a problem in center field too I think.

I was sad too. He was brought up through the Sox system and just fun to watch play. I loved his home run swing, but only when he hit a home run.

However... was there ever a better time to trade durham? though we might have been able to get a bit more, ray has done nothing since he left to make me pine for his return.

Yeah that's true. He hasn't been the same especially with running speed. But at least he had a great game against Minnesota last week.

Could not agree more. We should have got more but, when you see how ray has done since leaving, you don't feel so bad. We still could have got a lot more.

2003 kills me the most we should have run away with that divison

that year kills me most but I just had to let the 2002 flashbacks out.

ya that game cameron hit 4 i knew we were in trouble

2001-2004 was a very tiring, frustrating time to be a Sox fan. In 2001 I remember being burnt out by the time we were 8-19. In all of those years I remember saying "if we could just get back to .500 I'd believe" and "if we could just get within 5 games we have a shot"

God, how pathetic is that line of thinking.

When people complain that the fans didn't support the Sox in '01 after the division title, they forget about that 8-19 start.

THere's a random game against the royals @ KC during '02 that sticks out in my mind. We were leading by like 3 the entire game and then foulke blew it.

'02 was the first season i really became a hardcore fan of this team, so that one hurt.

But '03 by far was worse, no way we should have lost that division, no way.

What? You mean you didn't have faith in Jon Rauch and Jim "Butter" Parque? I thought for sure we were gonna pitch a shutout that game...

Yeah, that game sucked ass. But that was the year the M's won 116 right?

Ha! Yougins, talk to me after 30 years of suffering.
