Game Story

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- Enemencio Pacheco and two

relievers combined on a three-hitter as the Birmingham Barons

blanked the Jacksonville Suns, 3-0. Pacheco (2-0) allowed just

two hits and hit a batter over six innings, striking out five.

He has surrendered just one earned run in 25 1/3 innings this

season. Jake Meyer worked two scoreless innings and Royce Ring

pitched a 1-2-3 ninth, striking out a pair, to record his fifth

save. Danny Sandoval hit a two-run double in the fifth inning

for Birmingham, which won for just the second time in its last

11 road games. Brennan King had two hits for Jacksonville, which

had its five-game winning streak snapped. Eric Stults (2-2)

surrendered three runs -- two earned -- and five hits over six

innings to take the loss.

jim had some nice things to say about pacheco, lets see if he can keep it going...

Barons have one hell of a pitching staff...

and to think we got Pacheco for Sandy Alomar (?). That is sounding like a sweet deal.

I bet that Pacheco will be included in our next "Top 30 Prospects." Does anybody know when this is coming out?

We've been delayed in releasing it, but its going to be a Top 50 this time. We are basically dotting the i's can crossing the t's. I'd like to give you a date for it to be out there, but then I'd end up being wrong, lol, but expect it very very soon.
