July 25, 200520 yr Ted Lilly complained of pain in his shoulder after making his start against the Royals today. There goes that trade possibility. Lilly said he first felt soreness while warming up before the start, but he didn't tell anyone then. ''It got to the point where I wasn't able to let my fastball go without any discomfort,'' Lilly said. ''I just wasn't able to let the ball go freely without any pain.'' There's a good chance Lilly will go on the disabled list. Chad Gaudin or Scott Downs could replace him in the rotation. per rotoworld
July 25, 200520 yr So, does this make it more or less likely that Burnett will go to the Jays? It might make it more likely because the Blue Jays could figure they need to get another pitcher to make up for the loss of Lilly until both he and Halladay return. It might make it less likely because they could just decide to pack it in. Either way, this probably really affects our chances of landing Burnett.

July 25, 200520 yr Sucks for him, but with how Duque and Count have pitched the last week or so, not sure if Lilly would be a huge upgrade.
July 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) I'm shocked we didn't trade for Lilly last week. That would be the Sox luck. Maybe yet another omen for this season?

I really don't think it effects it at all because Bruce Levine was on ESPN 1000 today and said that its basically up to the Marlins to sign the papers for Burnett to become a White Sox.
