Does anyone besides me notice that most of his long runs like 10 plus are on the 3rd and long like 3rd and 20 type instances when the defense is mostly playing deep...

That's totally correct because Ron Turner is the god of 3rd and 20 draw plays...

They shouldn't be in 3rd and 20 situations in the 1st place.

Well it only happened once this game when there was a 5 yard penalty and than a sack... but with Hutchinson we were in 3rd and long in a lot of situations and thats when Thomas broke out his long runs that were long but not long enough.

How so?

Last time he was the OC, Erik Kramer broke every passing record the bears held, and Curtis Conway was his primary target. Seeing what happened to both of their careers when Turner left, I would have to say he is much better than the "God of 3rd and 20 plays". Turner may have flopped as the head coach of the illini, but he is a damn fine OC.
