Michigan hoops punishment announced

Featured Replies

interesting - I knew the news was coming today but I forgot to check for it, so thanks for posting this

What the hell, I am so pissed. Michigan forfeited every single victory from the fab five era and banned themselves for a year.

The f***in NCAA is a bunch of egotistical jerk off that just feel like flexing their muscles to show they actually have some power...damn this pisses me off.

Well at least the football team has been scandal free...which is more important than basketball. My dad finally got accepted for season tix this season, after trying for 20 years. It is a long drive to make from NJ to Ann Arbor though, not sure if he will accept them. The drive is even longer after a loss. Driving home after the Ohio St. game in 2001 was hell

They still should have gotten the death penalty. :nono

I won't argue that the penalty is unfair - I hope the appeal prevails, but our program was way out of control - granted it was a while ago and several coaches and ADs ago - but that was conduct unbecoming Michigan.

Obviously you need to never attend another OSU game. I have never seen UM lose to OSU (I did not attend the 2001 gamne, see what happens?) - this season, give me your tickets - I'll bring home a winner again - :bringit :cheers

Illinois got leaned on more from NCAA for nothing than Michigan's dirt program of early 90's :fyou Michigan and NCAA

for nothing? for nothing?

go back and learn Illini history - the school has a long history of NCAA violations going back decades

Michigan (89 NCAA champs) had an out of control program for 3-4 years, first time in history, and we dumped ADs, coaches, and whole seasons, banners down, records erased, and gave up this last for the NCAA on voluntary probation - if we have one more year to do, so be it, but we have been up front about it -

not like Il-whine-ois

if you are hoping Chris Webber gets nailed for his perjury - so by the way is everyone in Michigan - that scum was a large part of the problem and we hope he gets what is coming to him for his contributions to the violations

Ah, one more season of chanting "no post season" and waving dollar bills at Michigan when they come down here again. :bringit
