How Interesting..........

Every game in recent weeks, when we win, I hear this:

"YES! I have the faith back! They will make the playoffs! They have a shot! Great baseball! That was great! I love this team! GO SOX!"

And every game we LOSE, I hear this:

"NO! I have lost all faith in this team! They SUCK! They are OUT! They are NOT going to make the playoffs! I hate this team!"

Can someone make up their mind? I realize YES, we SHOULD have won that game. The game was tied when Santana left. But jeez, we still have a slight lead and 10 games left, including 4 with Detroit. If you want to go on with the pessimism, fine, and IF the Sox ultimately choke, sure, go ahead and say "I told you so" as much as you want. But I still have the faith, and I'm keeping it to the end. I prolly also won't be posting here much the next 10 days since all I'll be hearing is what I mentioned above.

Be confident. We took 2 out of 3 against the Twinkies last time, we can win or split this series just as well. And Detroit should be easy(knock on wood).

Like your bi-polar meds never ran out at the wrong time. . . :D

For some reason, people think they'll be less disappointed at the end of the season if they state with 10 games left that they're done with this team. Nice defense mechanism try, but it's not going to make you feel any better in the next 2 weeks if the worst happens. It's like a guy who claims that they're done with their girlfriend, even though she's the one who wants to break up with him (or so I've heard!). It's not going to make you feel any better in the long run.

Its real f***ing simple.

Our offense was horses*** when we started in April and its horses*** now.

The difference was that when we would lose a 2-1 game in May it was thats okay, we have the best record in baseball. Now of course that the lead is down, when the same horses*** offense struggles the same way it has struggled all year long people get all bent out of shape. Its not a new thing, this offense has blown all year long.

If the stars align, the moon is in flux, and our hitters realize that they just need a single with men in scoring position we can score a few runs. We face Cy Lohse tonight. Hopefully a few of our hitters realize that Lohse is crap and put a few good ABs against them instead of trying to figure out how far their moon shot will land.

All this team had to do in September is beat the teams they should of, and played decent against the good teams and its a walk in to the division.

Dude, I've been saying it for the past week: Lithium baby, lithium! (note: no green)

But yeah, it's irritating. I'm in until it is officially over (we're eliminated from the playoffs somehow or we win it all). And then I'll be pissed for like a month (unless we win the WS then I'll cry for a month tears of joy), then I'll be talking about Spring Training and it'll start all over again.

Yeah, I said that in the game thread last night but people will be in and out the rest of the way no matter what anyone says...but yeah I know exactly what you mean.

Either way, if we make it and actually win the first game of the playoffs everyones going to hop back on so whats the use. Only one thing I have to say...Go Sox!
