October 2, 200520 yr With the BS of the game being at 3pm, are there people who would like to get together and pick a bar to watch Game One at?
October 2, 200520 yr I'm in but not until about 4 or so. I am at 440 S. Lasalle -- Ceres in the CBOT is always a good place to go (super strong drinks)
October 3, 200520 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) With the BS of the game being at 3pm, are there people who would like to get together and pick a bar to watch Game One at? I live up near Chestnut and LaSalle, I could meet you guys out if you're gonna watch somewhere.
October 3, 200520 yr Author Bump* I know RockRaines and RobinVentura23 also talked about this... Any other opinions?
October 3, 200520 yr I don't think I'll be able to make it, guys. Have a good time and here's to a White Sox winner!
October 3, 200520 yr We normally go to Alcock's on Wells; it's a sox bar. It's down the street from Billy goat, good pizza and all the bartenders are hot. It's at Van buren and Wells.

October 3, 200520 yr Alcock's is a pretty good idea as well -- good, cheap pizza. I am down for whatever.
October 3, 200520 yr Miller's pub.... plenty of pictures of Bill Veeck and old comiskey on the walls...
October 3, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) Miller's pub.... plenty of pictures of Bill Veeck and old comiskey on the walls... Where is that at, and how do the prices look?
October 3, 200520 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 08:19 AM) Where is that at, and how do the prices look? Wabash and Adams? i'm not sure if it is adams, but it is wabash on the west side of the street... there is an awning over the sidewalk... great place for ribs, and it is easy to hide at the upstairs bar...
October 3, 200520 yr Author The biggest question to me is will someone be able to get to somewhere like Alcotts earlier enough to get a table?
October 3, 200520 yr I am fairly certain that we can call and get a table reserved -- lets just pick a place and I will call ASAP.
October 3, 200520 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 09:39 AM) The biggest question to me is will someone be able to get to somewhere like Alcotts earlier enough to get a table? Tuesday is Rosh Hashanah so that will definitely lessen the people in the downtown area. I will probably be standing anyway cause I can't get there till after 4:00.
October 3, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 09:45 AM) I am fairly certain that we can call and get a table reserved -- lets just pick a place and I will call ASAP. Lets try Alcotts first then, as it seems the closest to the most people. Go ahead and call and see if we can get a table for about 6-8 people, as that seems like about what we can draw. Let us know what you find out.
October 3, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) No answer at Alcocks -- will try again in an hour or so IIRC they don't open until 11 am.
October 3, 200520 yr Just got off the phone with Alcock's -- The woman told me that they normally dont reserve tables but that she didnt think we would have an issue. I pressed and tried to get her to set something aside for us and she said that she would talk to the powers that be and get back to me ASAP.
October 3, 200520 yr Can't do Tuesday But since Wednesday's game is 6:00, I'm all for it. Just let me know where.
