Greg The Bull Luzinski
I was thinking about it, and I thought I would share it with the rest of the happy White Sox fans tonight. I am a third generation White Sox fan. In my lifetime, I have seen something at least one generation has not seen. The White Sox winning a playoff series. So let's send a toast up to heaven for all the White Sox fans that never got to see this ... ... and hope there are two more celebrations. Queen Prawn
Speaking of paying respects, anyone going to meet the team? WGN said that they were expected tomorrow at Midway (the area on 63rf - Atlantic or something like was the name of the airline charter) between 12:30 and 1. I am thinking about parking by my parents and taking a walk up there. Anyone know the accuract of the report?
winninguglyin83
amen. know plenty of Sox fans who lived through 20 kinds of hell. hope they're loving every second of this
FlaSoxxJim
This has been a theme for my family this year. My dad has done a lot of reecollecting about '59, and he also shared what he remembered his Dad telling him about 1917 and 1919, which admittedly was not very much. The miles and miles of desert just make the Oases of October that much more inviting.
Wong & Owens
QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) Speaking of paying respects, anyone going to meet the team? I am thinking about parking by my parents and taking a walk up there. Anyone know the accuract of the report? That is correct, the Sox come in to the Atlantic private charter terminal, the entrance located next to the firehouse. It's gated however, and you likely couldn't get very close at all(my brother worked at Atlantic until about a month ago).
Greg The Bull Luzinski
Hopefully we have some of the 1919 White Sox pulling a little magic for us to. Say it IS so Joe!

kevin57
I remember my uncle--a huge Sox fan--saying to my brother and me as kids when we were arguing once about the Sox and Cubs: "The Sox will win a pennant before the Cubs." He died in 1977. What a prophet! (I believe) Unc, I hope you're smiling in heaven right now.
southsider2k5
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) Thats why you enjoy this now. I just cant stand or for that matter understand how people ares guarded or even pessemistic about the playoffs. We might never get there again, so just enjoy this. This can never be said enough. You never know what could go wrong, so why wouldn't you enjoy what celebrations you can have, instead of obsessing about the negatives, because you just might miss it all. For some of us, the journey is half of the fun of getting this far. People who were freaking out about this that and the other, missed out on one of the most fun teams I have ever seen. And not just for the last two weeks, but for the guts and glory off all 165 games we have played so far. Relax and enjoy it while you still can. Win or lose, it is all going to be over way to soon. bjm676
To both of my grandfathers. Who lived, breathed and died White Sox. Both lived on the South Side of Chicago. Only witnessed the 1959 World Series. This is for both of you. Hopefully, I will salute both of you two more times. To my dad, who witnessed his first playoff series victory in his lifetime. I can't wait to attend Game 2 of the ALCS with him on Wednesday.
