October 12, 200520 yr Chicago Tribune: Apparently the White Sox are not alone in their relative anonymity. Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf decided to test the theory recently by going undercover at U.S. Cellular Field, according to the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. "This last homestand, I put on a security jacket and a security hat, and nobody knew who I was," Reinsdorf said before Tuesday's Game 1 loss in the American League Championship Series. "Except one guy came up to me and pointed at me and said, 'You're uh, uh … oh, never mind,' and he walked away." Reinsdorf apparently has no ego about his lack of recognition. When the team recently was received by a crowd of Sox fans at Midway Airport after returning from Boston, Reinsdorf got a similar reaction. "I was the first car out, and people were waving," he recalled. "Then, when they saw it was me, they stopped, they quieted down, let me go by and they waited for the real heroes." *** I didn't see this posted. I'll grant that there are quite a few who don't know who he is...but if memory serves, he was booed enough at the Bulls championship rallies that a good portion of the city should recognize him.

October 13, 200520 yr He's a good owner. Maybe not a great one, but he's not near as bad as some people would lead you to believe. In fact I like the fact that he lets the baseball people make the baseball decisions.
