Kyyle23
http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-jay15.html Highlights, or lowlights as you will, of Mr Mariotti's recent flip flop. It was important for the White Sox, after the Eddings affair, to win a ballgame the right way, the real way, the uncontested way, without any Mickey Mouse shenanigans down the street from Disneyland. They needed to separate themselves from an infamous chapter in baseball history and remind America why they're still participating in Bud Selig's mid-October taffy pull. Despite saying yesterday that he thought the ball bounced, Mariotti infers that he thinks the Sox didnt win the game the right way. As the right-field umpire on this night, though you might say he was straight out of left field, Eddings was torched by boos when he trotted to his position. Every time a ball was hit foul down the line, the nearby fans screamed -- "You [bleep]! You [bleep]!'' -- and waved their annoying ThunderStix. One of the beach balls came close to nailing him, which, I suppose, beats William Ligue charging out of the stands with his son to tackle the first-base umpire. What the hell does one have to do with another? William Ligue's name should not be mentioned, ever, when the Sox are in the playoffs. Mariotti just keeps bringing up intensely embarrassing moments for no reason. I should state that Reinsdorf, having the time of his sporting life, indeed left the ballpark after batting practice the other evening to observe Yom Kippur, the Jewish holiday. It was reported here that he was at the park, and the item wasn't intended to suggest he didn't leave to observe the holiday. Sounds like Mariotti is reporting things that never happened again, and got caught again. Why am I not surprised.
Texsox
Even those people who believed the ball bounce, the umps call was clear, probably agree it wasn't the kind of win you feel good about. This game was free of any controversy. Just a great pitched, fielded, and played game.
chisox72
Whats even funnier is that the asshole said he expected the Sox to lose this series on Around the Horn yesterday. So who is he crappin'?
