Managerial Question

Featured Replies

I understand that Ozzie is the first Latin American manager to make it to The Series. How rare is it for a manager to make it to the World Series in his second year of managing?

Thanks, and GO SOX!!!

last year francona won with boston in year one.

Isn't technically Tony La Russa the first Latin manager to go? He was born stateside so maybe that's the distinction

bob brenely also won in his first year of managing

Cito Gaston?

He's from Texas.

Cito was the guy I wanted the Sox to hire before 04. I hope someone will eventually give him another look. Seems a shame a champion like him hasn't gotten back into the game. He'd have been a good fit in Philly post-Bowa.
