Please Tell Me This Isn't True.....

Featured Replies

I've just browsed the Astros MLB forum, and they claim local news stations have alleged a supposed Sox fan pulled Mrs. Biggio hair following yesterday's victory.

Just what we f***ing need, if it's true. :bang :headshake

SOX FANS PULL MRS. BIGGIO'S HAIR

(huge story)

SOX SWEEP ASTROS AWAY

(small, 2 column corner story)

Hey wite I'm not sure if anyone has commented yet but I've been loving your sig for the past few weeks. I can't wait to see what you will put over the last two numbers.

Uh, you mean the “I just heard on the news that….” type of rumor? And an hour later - no substantiation, no link, no mention of name of TV or radio station?

EDIT: Here's the link to the probably bogus information on that message board

http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/mb/message.asp...g=42497.1&ctx=0

Actually, it's pretty funny. Should be titled "Who has Big Hair? Pass it on."

Could have been worse. Just ask "Huge" Bill Simonsen. :P

Sounds like BS to me

At this point, I agree. When I first browsed the board, several threads were discussing it with "reports" suggesting it to be true. I know we're dealing with the most troll infested message board relating to baseball, but I assumed with the number of people backing up the claims it was bound to be true.

After two hours and no certifiable link suggesting it's validity, it's probably sore fans b****ing. I'm glad to be wrong here.

According to ABC 13 in Houston, it was true.

Big scare for Astros wife after Game 2

(10/23/05 - CHICAGO, IL) - The Houston Astros return to Houston in a big hole, but they didn't return without a few frightening moments.

According to an Astros spokesperson, Patty Biggio, wife of Astros second baseman Craig Biggio, had her hair pulled by a White Sox fan after the game. She was shaken, but is fine. Chicago police arrested the man.

After two losses and some miserable weather, it's safe to say the team and their fans are glad to be heading back to Houston. And despite the big hole the team dug themselves into, fans remain positive.

"We're used to it," said Astros fan Jeremy Radcliffe. "We've had a couple of these recently. We've bounced back before. Hopefully, we do it again."

"Houston, we don't have a problem," assured Astros fan Brenton Quell. "We're going to go back home. We're going to take care of three at home and I'll be back here next Saturday night."

Aside from the scare for Patty Biggio, we heard other tales of threatening fans.

"I had about a 40-year-old guy saying he's going to come up in ten minutes and visit me," said Astros fan Wes Davis. "It's just like, we're trying to cheer here."

Out of 40,000 fans, there are always some bad apples. But we're told by Astros fans that on the whole, the Sox fans treated them well. As for the man who allegedly pulled Patty Biggio's hair, he was arrested and he'll likely be charged with battery.

They could've left the first 2 sentences in the last paragraph out. Because everybody knows all Sox fans are evil. :P

And if that idiot really did that, he needs the phone book treatment.

I have to believe this happens at every stadium during every WS.

Who the heck pulls hair? This is strange beyond reason...Why the heck would anyone pull someone's hair? I mean really...I can't even invision the drunkest of the drunk thinking...."it will be funny to pull her hair."

Idiot!!!!!

Idiot!!!!!

Kevin Millar copyrighted all uses of this word during Playoff and World Series play. You owe him.

I was thinking, What MAN pulls someone's hair?

Sounds like pretty good security, though.

That doesn't sound like "ripping her hair out" to me. What is this guy's story? Does anyone besides astros fans actually believe that this guy knows it was Biigio's wife? Did she ask to get it harder, and then slap her ass? :bang

Are you related?

I'm totally embarassed and ashamed by the asshole who did this. When you take that kind of thing that seriously, you're not a Sox fan--you're a f***ing LOSER.

As somebody who has gone to KC and Detroit in a Sox jersey for games there, their fans were all cool. We definitely bantered in some good-natured trash talking, but everybody was really nice. The only unpleasant experience I've ever had was at the Sox/Cubs games at Wrigley.

Congratulations Mr. Moron Hair Puller--you are the epitome of a Cubs fan.
