Great starting pitching though. Playing as a team, we beat a Red Sox team with no starting pitching. An Angels team with no Bartolo Colon, (thank God for the dropped 3rd strike win, and no ump seeing Steve Finley's bat hit AJ's glove.) And then come the Astros who were once 15 games under .500 this year. And their Ace (Rodger Clemens), much like the Angels ace gets hurt. In a year where there were no Great teams, the White Sox managed to survive and win it by playing good team ball. No doubt it was our year.

Certainly doesnt seem like it in this post. If you actually watched them this year, you would know they were one of the BEST TEAMS in the last 25 years.

Only 2 teams have accomplished what the Sox did last night. They won their division, which was statistically the best in the AL, wire-to-wire. And then completed a sweep in the World Series. The only teams that can boast that: - 1990 Cincinnatti Reds - 1927 New York Yankees That's right, the '27 Yankees: Murderer's Row. Widely regarded as the greatest team in the history of baseball. Put it in perspective, and you really see how special this team really is. I still can't believe it.
October 27, 200520 yr Um, maybe I'm missing something. Great baseball is defined by great pitching, "though(?)" You forgot the Sox great defense, and that intangible, but they worked as a TEAM. I would suggest you apply as an ESPN "analyst." Oh, BTW, the breaks they got especially during the series with the LAA didn't really give them anything. The Sox pitchers had like a 1.87 ERA for that series. Ain't no way in hell any team is going to overcome that kind of great pitching, "though."
