October 28, 200520 yr Gooch probably isn't on the list because most of what he did was just move Pods over. Granted, that still meant a lot to this team, but that's not normally something that sticks in people's minds.
October 28, 200520 yr Gooch isn't on the list because he's 30 w/ years of professional experience. Agree with it or not, I doubt the players see him as a "rookie."

October 28, 200520 yr If Ichiro was eligible, then Iguchi should be eligible. You can't just decide to hold being a Japanese pro against someone in 1 case but not do so in the other because 1 season stood out more.

IMO Johnny Gomes, Huston Street and Gustavo Chacin all had better seasons than Iguchi. Tadahito will get a good amount of votes for the real ROY award but he will not win it. I'd say a good amount of the players don't consider Iguchi to be a rookie however, the voters do.
