Cover Letters

Featured Replies

Anyone have any advice for a cover letter or what makes a good cover letter, formatting, etc?

Especially if you don't know a lot about the company.

Hello, SS2k, Steff, Kap, anyone?

Hell even Nuke would work at this point.

:D

I used a mix of templates from Microsoft and advice from a high school business teacher I still know.

LMAO.. Nuke's letter..

TWIMC... I'd like to work for you. I like to blow s*** up.

First, do some research on the company. These days it's easy to find a companies plan - mission statement - to see if you fit. Then focus on your skills, what you bring to the table, your asset to the position, etc.. Briefly touch on your exp (refer to your attached resume, i.e.. as you can see from my attached resume I have extensive experience in this, this, and this, and feel with those skills would be an asset to your organization by... doing this, that and the other, etc..). Good to also have a objective detailed.

Also, I am working on a response to your previous questions. For some reason I'm busy with work today.. LOL.

I'll probably read it sometime tonight then, I am leaving for work in about a hour or so.

Thanks for the info though.

Having set on a few employees in my time,I'd suggest keeping it short and to the point, do not waffle. Depending on how you look a small recent photo may help you stand out from the crowd.

I'm a stud, so that's no problem.

Just as Steff or hell even Nambla member Jason.

Hey - I have some cover letters somewhere that I've used... I could try to dig them up if you'd like. Is this someone that you have never been in contact with?

Yeap, some lady who works in pharmacy sales saw me at my mom's school (I guess she is a parent of one of her students) told me I should get her a resume and that as long as I can put a suit on they can train me.

Mom already showed the lady the resume and she thinks its great but I need to do a cover letter.

It's not really something I'm very interested in, but I would at least like to put together a resume and cover letter and go through the interview process for the experience. Who knows what I would do if I got considered for the position.

Anything you got would be good cause I am clueless when it comes to this stuff.

I have never had/used a cover letter before. They are basically a waste of paper in this industry. Heck half the time a resume is too, but it is a necesary evil.

Cover Letters and Resumes are nothing but a quick hit, BS way of saying "this looks interesting" from a manager's perspective. That's it.

Seeing as how you already have an "in" ... it's not as critical. I'll look for that stuff later.

Pharmy sales is VERY lucrative if you have the right in.

Yeah, have a picture of an atom bomb going off to add to the effect.

LOL!
