Every year me and some friends go to a forgien city for a Sox game.

 

This year it's new york cause it's over a weekend.

Me and 6-10 others will be invading NYC and hitting all the spots like scores and all the bars that are cool.

 

A guy coming along is a born and bred new yorker from manhattan, its going to be awesome.

That sounds like fun.........I plan on going to fenway this year for the 2 out of the 3 games, or maybe all 3 games depending on work schedule.

Awesome dude! I grew up on the South Side, but I live in Manhattan and go to law school. I do the 16 game plan in the bleachers (tickets only $10 each) so that way I get all the Boston, Mets, and whatever other games I want (White Sox!). If it's your first time there, it'll be especially cool for you. Make sure you get there early and tour monument park one of the days - the stadium will only be around 3 more seasons (new one in 2009).

Hard. Try that but you'll likely end up going to a broker. Bleachers are dry... so if that's a concern, don't get seats there.

drunk is a must on vacation

Have fun man, NYC is awesome. I've never had a hard time getting tix there, but you're going in a nice size group.

If you get a chance, go to Jimmy's Bronx Cafe. All the Latin ball players stop there when they're in town. They have more autographed ballplayer pictures on the wall than anywhere I've ever seen.

It's not hard to score tickets NORMALLY against the White Sox, but I don't know if this year will be different considering we're the Champs.

Buying them the day they go on sale isn't a bad idea to be safe.

 

I don't mind the bleachers. As Steff said, it's an alcohol free section - but the craiziest/most hardcore fans sit there, so if you wear Sox gear, you're sure to have an interesting time. I usually go to a bar or place that sells beer and pop a few down before the game...works for me.

 

EDIT: If you do bleachers, don't do them for every game b/c you won't have access to the rest of the stadium (including monument park). The bleachers are a seperate entrance.

I'd say avoid the bleachers if possible. Beer is essential to putting up with obnoxious Yankees fans. I'm up for a group outing to watch the Sox defend against the Yanks. Definitely have to get tix as soon as they go on sale, though. I've waited in the past, and they always sell out.

I figure I gotta get out there before they take that Stadium down. I honestly doubt I'd be able to make it when the Sox are in town, though.

Hey man, I am a college student at Indiana University and was born and raised in New York and my dad (who grew up in Chicago, the main reason I'm a white sox fan) take me and friends to the game every year at Yankee stadium. If you see six guys in the first six seats right behind the White Sox duggout wearing mainly white sox stuff that is us. If you've never been to yankee stadium i suggest you maybe see if you can take a tour around monument park, it's amazing... nothing beats the bronx, lol

I remember you. You're the guy that looks like Jon Garland and there was a TV shot of you cheering that you posted on this site a few months ago. I was raised in Chicago but have lived in NY the past 7 years so its always good to see Sox fans at the Yankee game. I usually go with some seats I get comped from vendors (about 10 rows up to the right of the Yankee dugout). This year will be crazy since we are the champs and New Yorkers have a huge hard-on for Aaron Rowand so I'm sure it will be packed.

Yeah, that was me with a few friends and my dad and brother... Only my friend and I were shown in that picture. Paulie tossed me a ball right after that. It was nice.

My brother and I are thinking about doing a road trip as well.

 

I went to Anaheim on 5/24, Buehrle's 10-inning game vs. Colon, and for Game 3 of the ALCS. I'm planning on going down there when they come back through town this coming season.

 

I'm thinking about heading up to Seattle when they play there, or later on this summer flying back to Chicago and doing a driving trip with my brother to Detroit and NYC, with a stop in Cooperstown, and maybe catching games in any city that is along the way on the way back.

I'm thinking I'm gonna hit up a series in Bmore and Cincy this year. Its funny, the only vacations I take every year involve the Sox, lol.
