Sell the White Sox.

Featured Replies

Why Jerry Reinsdorf doesnt sell the White Sox??? Look at the Falcons they got a new owner and he is getting a life in a franchise that was horrible in the past.

Why should he sell the Sox? Are you prepared to buy the Sox?

Saying JR ought to sell is like saying the wind should not blow on snowy days or children should never catch colds. May be true, but we can't afffect it one way or the other.

I have posted before that JR has done some good things, including and especially the lease extension in the US Cellular deal. I am not totally happy with JR's total record - but I think he gets dissed unfairly sometimes and calling for him to sell is meaningless unless one is prepared to buy.

And for whatever it says about our franchise, he has 4 division titles (including 1994) during his ownership which is unmatched by any other owner in our history. Even if you don't grant him 1994, the only other owner to win 3 of anything was Comiskey himself.

A new owner always raises the threat of the team being moved. Be careful of what you ask for because it may happen. I trust that JR's new lease deal is totally binding and the Sox are committed to Chicago through, what is it now, 2022 or whatever. But until it is tested in court, no one knows. We will get a new owner in due time - and then we may find out if what we ask for is a curse that we will get.

Anyone who thinks Reinsdorf is going to sell the Sox in the middle of their "All Star" season is on crack. He ain't selling so might as well stop dreaming.

I'm willing to take that chance. JR has ruined the White Sox in Chicago. If a new owner comes in and decides to move the team, at least the taxpayers of Illinois will be relieved of paying for Reinsdorf's Folly at 35th and Shields. I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that the White Sox will NEVER be a serious contender with JR as owner.

1906 the last time that we won a World Series. We need an owner who wants to spend money to make this team a champion or a every year playoff contender.

CK, we won three division titles in which we went into the playoffs so we have been world series contenders in his era.

And if you seriously don't give a s*** if the Sox move, I will seriously give up pacifism and place my entire leg up your ass until my foot comes out your mouth and it will stay there until you take that back! :headbang :bringit :o :P :finger :lolhitting :bang :nono

I do not think he wiil sell, but when he says he would trade ALL Bulls championships for 1 SOX he is taking out his ass, he has never had the kind of payroll for Sox he did for Bulls. JR made and is still making millions on the Bulls and has not paid any rent on the CELL in years, money is not going back into the product like it should, that is my main fault with JR.

If your idea of just getting to the playoffs makes you a contender..... then yeah..... the Sox have been a contender 3 times.

But, when you get knocked out in the first round all three times, you ain't contending for s***. In my world, there are only 2 WS contenders each year..... one from the AL, and one from the NL. But that's just me.

I wish mark cuban would buy the team and keep it in chicago.

Or somebody rich from the great city of Chicago who has a clue.
