We usually grabbed shovels and headed to the lake.
January 12, 200620 yr One year my brother-in-law flattened out a stretch of his backyard, laid out some thick tarp, built a small border with wood planks and plastic coating and made one hell of a nice little mini-rink. It was about the size of an NHL offensive zone and maybe a bit of the center ice region. Not big enough to play any serious hockey, but a damn good little skating rink. His lawn was s*** that summer, though, hahaha. EDITED to add - NO, I'm not Jim Blaney's brother in law!!! I responded before I looked at the link and Blaney did basically the exact same thing my brother in law did! HA! Except my bro-in-law's rink was a little bigger, from the looks of Blaney's. January 13, 200620 yr Did the Blackhawks use that rink as their practice facility, because they are definitely not playing better than some little kids. What happened to the good ol days of Roenick, Chelios, Savard, Larmer, Wilson, or Belfour?
