Cubs Sign Sirotka

Featured Replies

He was signed to a minor league contract. He's 31 one right now.

Just like he said he would.

Thats right, he promised his revenge, lol.

I always like Mike so I'll root for him, but I just don't know if he'll ever make it back. Missing 2 years is a lot and I don't know if his arm is even ready to pitch yet.

I'm done cheering for Sirotka. I never cheer for ex-Sox players seduced to the Dark Side. Do you still cheer for Bere? "F" HIM! He's the enemy now. CubKilla cheers for NO sCrUBS!!!!!

Well, I don't have the extreme bias most Sox fans have towards the Cubs.

Of course I don't cheer for Bere because he really pissed me off when he sucked it up big-time after the strike.

If you drop the S in SCUM, then you'd be 100% right! ;)

Uh, am I the only one who wishes Sirotka well? If the Cubs gave him a good offer, why should he refuse it because he used to play for their crosstown rival that he left on bad terms for anyways?

I could see if maybe, Baines played for the Cubs, since he's supposedly the second Jesus as far as Reinsdorf and the rest of the organization is concerned, but I doubt Sirotka could give two s***s about the Sox.

this just cracks me up... typical of scrubbies.. sign our old players....siro hasnt pitched in like two seasons now right.....what makes them think hes going to do anything there for them.......lmao this is too funny............

Because if he does perform, he's a steal. The move makes sense. He's a lefty, they have very few lefties. Why not take a cheap bet on Siro regaining form?

because it aint going to happen.....his throwing days are way done.......if he could do anything why didnt he toss at least one pitch in two seasons???? face it siros not going to make any huge comeback anytime soon... and he signed to a minor league contract so what does that tell ya ......even the cubs have their doubts.........if in fact they thought he would make a miracle comeback they would have signed him to the majors outright..........at 31 hes got nothing and nowhere to go.......

I saw this coming.

Well he doesn't look to be 100% by spring training but he can throw without pain from 100 feet.

Figures you'd be one of the few to summarize this signing like this. You sound like my sCrUB fan friend who was trying to tell me that Sirotka is now John the Baptist to Prior being Jesus Christ. Most pitchers are able to begin rehab after labrum surgery in 9-10 months. Sirotka has just began throwing again. It's been two years. He's done.

I just never will understand the huge rivalry between Cubs and Sox fans. I don't think either team has anything to brag about other then whose more pathetic.
