Chisoxfn
He hit .216 in his major league career. Was originally a very highly touted prospect in the Yankees organization who was eventually traded to the Padres in exchange for the legendary Hideki Irabu. To say the least neither guys lived up to there greatness. Rivera also had an incident in spring training where he took someone's mitt (I think it was Arod's or Jeters) and tried to sell it. I think that was Rivera. Obviously camp fodder. Rivera is 32.

SSH2005
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...rtswhitesox-hed Extra innings While the White Sox exchanged minor-league proposals with the agent for pitcher Hideo Nomo, they did sign outfielder Ruben Rivera to a minor-league contract. Rivera, 32, never fulfilled the promise that Yankees and Padres officials had for him as a minor-leaguer in the 1990s. Rivera has a lifetime .216 batting average in 662 games with five major-league teams. White Sox signed outfielder Ruben Rivera to a minor league contract. The 32-year-old Rivera remains decent insurance. He's coming off a .308/.444/.564 campaign in the Mexican Winter League, and he can still run down flies in center field. He'll likely begin the year in Triple-A. Source: Chicago Tribune Edited March 3, 2006 by SSH2005
