Jim Thome's ratio of one home run every 13.8 at bats is the best among active AL players. On the alltime list only Mark McGwire, Babe Ruth and Barry Bonds have a better rate.

Nothing would please me more than seeing Thome hit a bomb off Sabathia Sunday night!

I know, but it may mean that he does in fact hit them in spurts. Hitting homeruns in spurts would definately juice up his HR per AB's ratio.
