I'm watching "Wrestling in Iowa"....Brands doesn't come across with any personality at all.

Haha, that's what J Robinson said in the quote I posted earlier. I have met both Brands, and they really don't seem to have any personality.

the only thing on his mind is wresting, but you don't need a personality to teach people how to kick other people's asses

It helps to have one to recruit.

It doesn't appear that is a problem at all. He got Iowa's best wrestlers to go to Virginia Tech over ISU and Iowa.

The wrestlers who were at Iowa said there was only one guy who they were going to wrestle for next year. The wrestlers in state, and already in the program all want this guy to be the coach. Frankly that matters much more than your opinion of his personality.

It is more-so who he has around him. There is no time away from wrestling for these kids. If he has guys around them who do have personality, then they're fine. One of the coaches here was the same "run through a brickwall" personality Brands is, and while he helps a ton, when you're having a bad day and tough practice, you don't need to be told to run through a brickwall, you tune it out and it makes it worse. Fighting with your girlfriend, while having two exams the next day, with a sore knee, cutting fifteen pounds... sometimes it gets to be a lot.

I imagine Schwab and Hand are going to come with them, and I do not know how they are either. All I know, Brands would be my kind of coach, and it's because I truely love wrestling and it's fun to me.
