Note on Chris Young

Featured Replies

But he's getting close to coming back from a broken bone in his hand.

Young, who's recovering from a broken bone in his right hand, is close to being ready for the majors. He'll stay in center for now.

With the D-Backs moving Justin Upton to CF, it looks like Young will be their CF'er until Upton is ready. Then when Upton is ready, they will probably trade Young for pitching.

Actually I think Upton is still play SS for them currently and its most likey that with Chris Young Upton would play LF.

Stephen Drew is their future SS.

No, they officially announced they were going to move Upton to the OF. However, I disagree with everyone. Upton has not proven he's more talented than Chris Young. I realize Upton has a lot of tools, but Young is about as talented as it gets at the Minor league level. We'll see how that transcends to the major league.

Plus I'm hard pressed to see someone come in and play better defensively. The Dbacks have 4 damn good OF prospects (including Upton, Young, Gonzalez, and Quentin) and my guess is at least one of them won't pan out, so they really don't have anything to worry about in terms of positions.

That boy can rake too. If Drew can be healthy he can be a good version of his big bro.

Yes he can the 6th pitch of the sidewinders season he launched off the score board at TEP which Sox's fans should know very well.

Right on Justin Upton is 4th on OF depth chart. You are also right that at least one will not pan out. Also remeber that Justin is 18 and starting the season at Low A South Bend. Young and Quentin are in Tucson and Gonzalez in Lancaster.
