Rumor: Sox Option Haeger to Charlotte, Plan on Promoting Tracey

Charles Haeger’s first stint in the major’s didn’t last long. Immediately following the game against the Angels, Haeger was optioned back to AAA Charlotte. One source has indicated that the Sox plan on promoting RHP Sean Tracey tomorrow. Tracey and McCarthy will be the likely candidates to make Contreras’ next scheduled start. MORE AT THE LINK

 

I for one hope the Sox stick with there original plan because Tracey has really regained his fastball and has improved his command greatly since moving back into the rotation in Charlotte.

 

During spring he really lacked pop on his pitches early on and than finally late in spring training (I happened to be at the game) he found his heater and was really looking good and mowing guys down.

 

In the pen he didn't appear to be able to loosen up and be ready for the start of the season, but the move to the rotation allowed him to get his arm loosened up and ready to roll.

 

He's got major league stuff and could help out in our pen until Jose comes back (temporarily replacing Bmac in the relievers spot) or he could make what is expected to be the final spot start.

I hope Jose gets the rest he deserves...and I believe it's good to see who's ready and who's not..I hate losing any game...But I am someone who doesn't pay attention to the Minors all that much and its nice to see some talent come up like B-mac..Jenks and Cotts..also we had a chance to win yesterday and we didn't go for the throat when needed...Let's hope one of these guys realy has the mentle edge to play for this team and the Majors.
