Hawk on Zambrano

Featured Replies

During the game yesterday Hawk said that Zambrano was the best pitcher the sox have faced this season... In no way am I hating on Zambrano because he is a good pitcher with great stuff, but didn't we just get dominated by former Cy Young winner Johan Santana? Lol and he didn't mention Santana. Just wanted to get that out of my system...

Santana is on a much different when he faces us to be considered a pitcher. I think a more appropriate term would be "God".

Yeah, I'd like to know when our offense hit three HR's off Santana and scored 4 runs within the last several seasons.

I'd rather see our team face Zambrano 4 times a year then having to face Yo-hand's change up 4 times a year :P

I watched the game, and what I recall Hawk saying is that Zambrano has some of the best "stuff" in all of baseball. And he is right. He didn't say he was the best PITCHER the Sox have faced. Those are different things. Zambrano COULD be one of the great pitchers in the game, except that he happens to be a mental box of rocks with an out of control temper.

Wrong, he did say Zambrano was the best pitcher the sox have faced so far this season. I am sure he said that, which is why I was really surprised.

God can't lose though.

I think perhaps you misheard him. But whatever. In any case, as I stated, he does have some of the best stuff in baseball. He just lacks the stuff between his ears.

nope. he said he had the best stuff out of anyone they had seen, and his slider was just sick.

having the best stuff and being the best pitcher are two different things.
