"One of the best arms on a starting pitcher that I've seen ... ever," said Byrd, who made his major-league debut in 1995. "I've been around a long time. His stuff is that much better than Cotts' that he may be able to succeed as a starter in this league with just two pitches and maybe a third pitch filler.
