June 16, 200619 yr From my recollection, Sox fans were appalled at the idea of getting this guy whereas he seemed to be an obsession to an extent of one Kenny Williams. Luckily we have all five rotation spots filled so Kenny can't fulfill his Russ Ortiz fantasies.
June 16, 200619 yr I hope Dave Dombrowski is watching this transpire and realizing that he has a similarly useless and overpaid relief pitcher on his hands *COUGH TODD JONES* that would be in his team's best interests if he got rid of. With the exception of the K and BB totals, Ortiz and Jones have put up nearly identical numbers this year. ERA's in the mid 7's and both are giving up just about a run per inning pitched.
