  1. Tailgate this past Saturday was Excellent, met lots more new SOX fans ........
  2. Hey y'all. Just wanted to say HEY, heading out to SanDiego tomorrow morning, meeting up with fellow SOX fans in SD area tomorrow nite, then driving up to LA for the Sox vs. Halos. Throwing a tailgate Saturday Morning before the afternoon game. Friday AFTER THE GAME, I know some of us are heading to some sports bar corner of State College Blvd & Orangewood, its at the base of an office building, SW corner (see map) Stop by and meet fellow SOX FANS. This is a map of where we will be Saturday morning. That little pinkdot you see, with the black dot in the middle, thats actual entrance to get into the lot. They charge $15 bucks per car I think, but your free to drink and tailgate
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 08:09 PM) That Cubs hat is just hideous. The Cubs hat ..............ecchhhhhhhhhhhh. reminds me of a highschool teams hat. Same with the Black Jays.
  4. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 06:49 AM) Zito has a Cy Young and more playoff experience. That gives him more leverage in $$$. ahhhhhh, Not so fast cowboy. This is how the media thinks. lets not forget some IMPORTANT facts here. Zito has a Cy Young because everyone knows a teams Winning Pct usually is the determining factor. Zambozo plays for the Cubs. Advantage ZITO. Zito has more playoff experience because he plays for the A's, a consistently good team. Zambozo plays for the Cubs .... a Consistently BAD team. Advantage ZITO. So ........ If Big 'Bozo were on another team, he would've easily had a couple of Cy Youngs by now, and alot more Playoff appearances. Zambozo is a better pitcher in my eyes. If Zito = 7 years - $126 Million than Zambozo = 7 years - $150 Million. If Big 'Bozo takes less, hes a CHUMP. Its not his fault right now that hes a Cub, but this is the time where he can step up and 1: Be Paid what hes worth OR 2: Leave so he can finally win some Cy Youngs and Playoff Games. We'll see whats more important to him ......... Free Drinks in Wrigleyville & Big Money or a World Series appearance
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 06:38 AM) And Jim Hendry, well you dug your own grave with this one, so enjoy the consequences. HAHAHHHAHAA. Yup Hangar predicted this on another site a few months ago, was told he was a heretic, that Zambozo would not ask for more money, how could he/not worth it, I said he will want at LEAST $100 Million Plus People laughed said no, Hangar said with Jim Spendry spending like he is, Big 'bozo will want to GET PAID, and I couldnt wait for him to come out and say it ..... Big Bozo ............."PAY ME!" And you know what? He most definitely DESERVES $150 Million easily.
  6. QUOTE(joeynach @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 12:54 PM) It boggles my mind why they think limiting their broadcasts to Directv only subscribers which is only like 5 or 10 million out of 300 Mil in this country anyway is a good thing. Yes they will get a lump sum of cash but they are making it more difficult to view MLB games for tens of millions across the country, why would they want to do that. Why would they want to limit their exposure to so many fans. Any common sense will tell you this would hurt them in the long run. The League of Extraordinarily Dumb Gentleman hard at work again I see .........
  7. QUOTE(tony72 @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 11:14 AM) Punchinello's on 31st.. only prob with Punchinellos, is that it doesnt make sense for those getting off the L at 35th. nobody will walk to 31st, have a beer, then walk all the way back for the game.
  8. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) From what I remember last year there was talk of doing our own patio party but the mods knew with the minimum required to make it worthwhile for the Sox, we wouldn't have enough. I was at COTC this year for the first time--the A's game which was Frank's first back at the Cell. You know, the one with the squirrel, LOL? I have no problem with them or what the event is called. We're all in the same boat. Or, as Al Sharpton said on TV last night: "Since we're all in the same ark let's try not to crap on the floor." You only need 20 to start your own party, not quite sure why we Couldnt get it off the ground last year, but since last summer, this board has grown quite a bit. This board can EASILY do their own now if we want. Just say the word GO and we can do it ........ I already have that same FORM downloaded, and we simply need to pick a Date. Ive been to a couple of these "Core" events, and there was a bit of uneasiness at one of the Core events. Not worth re-hashing all over again, but when I was a member of that other board, I do remember feeling uneasy about things, and wondering why we couldnt all get along. We're all Sox fans
  9. I know ............ I cant tell you how much of SHOCK its going to be for me, when that place isnt there anymore. Its easily been years and years that its my pre-game ritual, walk by, say hello, grab a beer, and when the games got more crowded, meet up with whomever, grab a beer, and walk in to the park. I still think that its ridiculous that Jimbos is the closest bar to the ballpark ......... there really needs to be a couple places added across the street I also love the fact that when former SOX pre-game host Dave Wills is in town, he makes sure to stop in and say hello too
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 08:11 AM) That doesn't make any less petty. Why would you be so insecure as to care about what the event is called? That is the part I don't get. I think this stemmed from a party a couple of years ago, someone from the SOX made mention that "nobody" from this board bothered to show up, but I think a couple people here were there (I remember seeing a couple) I think the SOX (no fault on their part) think that this board doesnt participate. Didnt we try to do a patio party last year, and couldnt get anyone to commit?
  11. Im going to see about WHERE this could take place, hopefully right by the park before the game, maybe an Afternoon contest. I'll have someone else contact the other site once we can finalize this. Id love to see a 20-3 pounding, heh heh!
  12. QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 03:16 AM) Dude,Crede certainly has gold glove caliber defense.Just because he hasnt won one doesnt mean anything especially with that award. And as far as Fields being athletic enough is not the question, its just a matter of having the natural ability which Joe has. Tell me about it. During the playoffs/WS in 05, stupid National Media kept being surprised at how "good" Joe Crede was. I kept saying to myself "yeah idiots, if you would've paid more attention to the Winning Team around here, you wouldnt have missed the Crede boat"
  13. Who is in, so far I have 4 (counting me) already committed ....
  14. QUOTE(Vance Law @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 12:35 PM) More aging left-handed outfielders, this one with with no power or speed or ability to play centerfield and with injury issues to their feet? And who already asked for too much money .... Hmmmmmmmmmmm, Let me dial Jim Hendry here really quick .....
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 05:52 PM) To speak on this matter it might have been nice if you at least tried to get a ticket yourself rather than relying on others and could speak first hand. Not one person we know that called TM the morning they went on sale didn't get tickets. Calling 3 hours later and then b****ing because you didn't get any to too damn bad. I even commented on how it would likely sell out as fast as the hotel rooms. Brooks came over and wasn't there 12 seconds and you were b****ing at him. For what they had to work with and the time to prepare, ONE year versus THIRTEEN at the Hyatt, things were pretty damn good. Hmmmm, you seem to forget that when he point blank asked me what I thought, I told him there was too much confusion, "but thats probably the fact that were in a new place-just the growing pains". Im the one that said that. He agreed. Everything was good natured ....... I wasnt going to lie and say it was the Best SoxFest ever, and I loved how they there were 4 separate floors for the sessions, etc. Again, everything was good natured. How I got my ticket is insignificant. I know plenty of people that wanted to go but couldnt get tickets and thats who I was speaking for ......
