June 16, 200619 yr My Friends, I give you… THE DUMBEST MAN ON EARTH! This picture is real - not doctored in anyway - and was taken last week by lorry driver friend near the Ice Skating rink at Gillingham. The car is still running, as can be witnessed by the exhaust. A woman is either asleep or has passed out in the front passenger seat. The bloke who was driving had apparently gone off to call his cousin who had a dropside Transit and was tarmacing drives in the area. Witnesses said their physical state was OTHER than normal. The driver finally came back after the police were called, and was found crouched behind the rear of the car, attempting to cut the rope around the load! Luckily, the police stopped him and had the load removed. The materials were loaded at B&Q around the corner. The store manager said they made the customer sign a disclaimer before they would load the stuff. While the plywood and 4X2s are fairly obvious, what you can’t see is the back seat, which contains -- are you ready for this? -- 10 bags of concrete @ 40kg each. They estimated the load weight at 1.5 tons and that’s without all the cheap gold worn by the driver and passenger! Both back tires exploded, the wheels bent and the back shocks were driven through the floor. The car was headed for Chatham (the blinging wheels give it away really), where the couple presumably planned to build a new house in which to smoke their crack.
June 16, 200619 yr I work at a lumber yard and have to haul plywood and anything else every day. I don't think that's going to cut it.
June 19, 200619 yr Sorry, that's an urban legend. Here's the exact same picture with a similiar story. EDIT: OK, I found it on snopes. The story you posted is wrong... Snopes.com Edited June 19, 200619 yr by Iwritecode
June 19, 200619 yr Let's assume the story is true. Signed waiver or not, if the store can see that the guy's state was 'other than normal' and still loads all that crap onto his car, I bet they'd still be liable.
