June 29, 200619 yr Not to start something again, but with the Crosstown series coming up, I thught it kinda funny that I saw this tonight. While watching sports highlights, they showed the Cubs game. Pierre comes barreling home, and the throw is dropped by the catcher. Pierre, not sure if he touched the plate, dives pack and slaps the plate. Then, seeing that the ump called him safe, he slapped the plate 4 more times. I wonder if Barrett would have thought it ok for the opposing catcher to sucker punch him while he lay on the ground slapping home plate? Hmmm.

Not to correct you or anything, but Barrett didn't even see the plate slap (from his own statements), and reacted only to Pierzynski walking towards him to get his helmet. But yea...
June 29, 200619 yr Another worthy topic on the frontpage of Palehose. Can we start losing or something?

But yea... Right, Barrett has said he never saw that. The whole dam plate slap discussion was just a way for people to try and blame AJ for something that he was at absolutely no fault for. Oh he slapped the plate....big f***in deal...this is baseball, it's an emotional game and that was a big play. The players don't go celebrate in a backroom, they stand right there at home plate and slap hands with a guy that just hit a home run.

June 29, 200619 yr that plate slap was bad-ass though, i love aj and the way he plays On a side note, it was funny to see Jones slap the plate like it meant something YOU ARE IN 5th PLACE IN YOUR DIVISION AND YOU JUST BROKE A 11 GAME HOME LOSING STREAK YOU ARE NOT GOOD Edited June 29, 200619 yr by zygoat
