Rockies clip Sox

July 11, 2006

Kevin Clark hit a three-run homer to power visiting Casper past Great Falls, 6-3, on Tuesday.

Jay Cox put the Rockies (8-13) on the board with an RBI single in the first. They doubled their lead when Clark singled in the second, moved to second on a sacrifice and scored on Everth Cabrera's single.

After Jhaysson Agustin doubled and Logan Wiens walked in the fourth, Clark blasted his second homer of the year to give Casper a 6-1 lead.

Pedro Perez went 3-for-4 to lead four Rockies with multi-hit games. Hector Gomez walked in the ninth to extend his streak of reaching base safely to 16 games.

Ronny Lopez (1-3) picked up the win, allowing two runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out five and walked one.

Vernon Carter hit a solo homer in the ninth for the White Sox (10-11).

Great Falls starter Clevelan Santeliz (0-3) took the loss, giving up six runs on nine hits over 3 2/3 innings. He fanned two and walked two. --Max Lance/MLB.com

How Cruz went 1-40 today and is still at Great falls is beyond me..

Carter with another bomb, geez. He's too good for this league, that's clear. I can only hope he doesn't slow down in full season ball again.

How old is Carter, and isn't he repeating the league?
