June 10, 200322 yr Author I'd take Alou as a DH. Did he have a horrible game or something today? No I just meant the lineups that they posted for today. I mean, Alou might be coming around now, but they bring up that kid Kelton solely to DH because he was doing so well in the minors and they don't start him? Troy O'Leary in left for Alou. Makes a lot of sense. And I know the Dodgers and Astros have to have better bench hitters to DH then Coomer and Merced.

Maybe Big Dust promised O'Leary that he'd play Tuesday, thinking ShamME would begin his suspension, and then when it didn't happen, he still felt like he had to keep his promise. Doesn't make sense to bring up No-Glove Kelton if you're not going to play him the ONLY time it won't hurt the team. Plus, O'Leary's not even really an upgrade defensively from Alou.
June 10, 200322 yr Assuming the Dodgers have Jordan, Roberts, and Green in the OF, and their IF is Beltre, Izturis, Cora, and McGriff....their only other option for DH is Mike Kinkade(who is a somewhat decent hitter that is). As far as Houston goes....no, they don't have a better option.
June 10, 200322 yr Ron Coomer was never.....let's say "slender" man.... but jesus when I saw him in the LA series... it looked like he had been locked in a closet with a few dozen boxes of Krispie Kreams. Bart made him look bad in his pinch hitting role as well.
