LVSoxFan
Those of you who might remember me from last year would remember how I wished and wished that we could have a season like Cleveland's last year, without the ending. I was so emotionally drained from the September swoon that clinching in Detroit wasn't joyous, it was a relief. But back then, and before this season, I said many times I would gladly trade a wire-to-wire season with a near total collapse for a crappy first half but then second half explosion (but going all the way, unlike Cleveland last year). So what's the damn point, you ask? I have said many times, if we're gonna have a slump, please make it be earlier and not right at the do-or-die point in September. So, the GOOD NEWS? Well, we DEFINITELY GOT THE "SLUMP" PART DOWN, LMAO. Be careful what you ask for, right? It really can't get worse than this, so seeing that we've been in the ugliest slump imaginable, I'd say: Hell YEAH this is JUST HOW WE PLANNED IT. It is totally official: we are now UNDERDOGS. Seriously, maybe this is just all part of God's plan. Just even MAKING the playoffs at this point will be considered a victory, and isn't that just where you want everybody's head at? GO SOX! GO SOX! good fishing points - i'd totally forgotten about the underdog effect. all last year i hated when people favored us to win any series, much less in the post season, cuz we always seemed to do the best when everything was going against us - when everyone said we wouldnt win (boston anybody?) we kicked major ass. Now we're underdogs again - and now we're going to kick some ass. wow, this totally turned my perspective around. although if we lose today i'll be back where i was before reading your post... lol

I was thinking about your post over the weekend, and I thought man, how "exciting" would it be to go on a TEAR like the Indians did. They had to play bigtime in combination with us collapsing down the stretch. What ALMOST happened last year wouldve been a collapse for the Ages, and it was no wonder that the media rightly & wrongly hyped that up. SOX fans were in Panic Mode and again, rightly so, things were not going our way. I hated being in that position as a fan, for the months of August and September, like a bad movie, where you know your going to end up the victim, you just have to wait out your fate. Thank goodness for Tampa. When we clinched, I too wasnt "celebrating" as much as I was "sighing" in relief. I know in certain SOX fan circles, it was very very Taboo and Uncool to be "worried" as a fanbase, but you know what, I was and I hated that feeling. Id love to have a "magical" ride like the Indians had, winning game after game, with all of the momentum (hahaha, I said Momentum) in your favor, putting mounting pressure on the team in front of you

Well, God does deserve the blame, because He created Vazquez, Mackowiak, Ozzie, Buerhle, Cotts, and everyone else that Soxtalk has pissed on this year. BLAME GOD!!!! ....although He, in His wisdom and grace, has ALSO created The Savior, Brandon H. McCarthy!!!!!
