July 29, 200619 yr QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 07:49 AM) Werent the first two runs scored via sac fly and sac groundout? Yeah, it's a start, but the inability to hit a single with men on 2nd and 3rd and keep a rally going is still a major concern....that tide's gotta turn sometime....
July 29, 200619 yr holy spiff what a game. stopped listening to game and went to the bar with a college buddy in town and since i am in dallas, they had the rangers game on. so then walk over to another bar, had espn on, look up and see gload's grand slam and i was like holy fish. that was amazing. don't know if this launches us to new hieghts but god that would be awesome. lets go sox and lets go tigers.
July 29, 200619 yr Ross Gload, huh? Who'd of thought. Well I always thought he was a good hitter, but never capable of being a hero. But we have to wonder what would have happened in the game had Paulie not gotten pulled......
July 29, 200619 yr Author QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:12 AM) Ross Gload, huh? Who'd of thought. Well I always thought he was a good hitter, but never capable of being a hero. But we have to wonder what would have happened in the game had Paulie not gotten pulled...... You know, I said it in the thread, I was happy to see Gload in the game. My reasoning was that he can get an infield hit to save his life, but mainly, Konerko's looked tired and miserly at the plate lately. Gload's a pretty good hitter, too. I suspect that Konerko would've found a way to pop out or ground out, probably into a double play, had he stayed in yesterday.
July 29, 200619 yr If the White Sox ride this victory to the playoffs, you should all have a special place in your heart for Ross Gload. What a ballgame, probably the most important hit of the season thus far.
