Yeah, and Brian Anderson is our CF. 2 minutes after Ozzie says that, Mack is playing in CF for 3 out of 5 games.

This is more of a ploy to get his wittle speed guy motivated. He has no real plans of using Sweeney in the lineup. He will play him once or twice, and then bury him.

Sweeney needs to get a start very soon. Otherwise, he should have remained in Charlotte to help them with their playoff run.

I wouldn't mind seeing him 2-3 times a week in place of Podsednik.

If Sweeney's not going to be used then he should be in AAA helping the Sox affiliate win a Championship, no matter what you might think keeping your affiliates happy is an incredibly important job. Charlotte had been clamoring for a winner for a while now and they've got it this year now they've lost 2 of their best SPs, 1 to the Sox and 1 to the Olympics, their starting catcher, their closer and one of their big bats. They basically have no shot in the playoffs now. If Ozzie's not going to use Sweeney then Ryan should be in Charlotte getting atbats and keeping the Knights happy so they don't someday drop the Sox as a parent club.

I'm all for dumping Pods, but the Sox should go with Gload in LF for the rest of the year, and consider hitting him second and moving Iguchi up to lead off. Gload is going to hit .300+ and walk a little. Plus, he never strikes out, and can bunt. I'll take him over an untested Sweeney as a hitter for the next couple of years at least.

Then I would sub Mack for defensive purposes whenever we have the lead.

Next couple of years you would rather have gload in LF over Sweeney or take him as a better hitter?
