i remember when that story came out. The fish pictured died during its capture, so they cut up the fish and fed the local village. No joke, the fish fed an entire village.

There is a picture at the link, the fish was 646 pounds and someone was using a cross cut saw to make giant steaks out of the fish.

 

Remember, give a man a fish and tyou feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day long.

We typically fished for carp at the lake in town. A lot of people don't exactly fish for catfish around NE Iowa...
