Kenny Williams QOTY

After being asked how much interest there was in his starters he is shopping, he had this comeback.

"Honestly, rather than trade one of them I'd rather post 'em," Williams said, taking a rip at Boston for paying $51.1 million for the rights to Japanese ace Daisuke Matsuzaka. "If you can get that much for somebody who hasn't pitched here, what can you get for one of the guys in our rotation?"

Who wouldn't rather post them? 51.1 million will buy alot of players and payroll flexibility.

I'm also happy about his comment on the "over-inflated" free agent market and that some GMS have the same feeling. Glad to see that the lunacy is being seen and talked about instead of ignored. The real test will come with Zito's and Schmidt's contracts. Hope the lessons of Darren Dreifort and Chan Ho Park still ring true with the GMs out there.

Who would pay that much for some pitchers who got shelled the last season they pitched?
