Date for final Harry Potter book

Can't say I've ever read Harry Potter, but I am interested in hearing what happens.

We're looking forward to this book quite a lot.

I've already said that I'm not discouraging kids from reading it. But why some adults are more excited to read the book than the children, that has me a bit confused.

I used to say the exact same things. Then I read the first one and I get it now. It's an ongoing story that leaves you with a cliffhanger like "Lost" or "24" from season to season. It's the exact same thing, just in a book form.
