Visit the beautiful southside of Chicago

Featured Replies

I saw this commercial last night - lovin' the website.

Saw it on the El the other day.

Do they have food on the Southside?

"Will I get cell reception on the (big bad poor black) southside"?

What's next, "will I get robbed"?

Worst marketing campaign of all time.

I wouldn't read too much into it. It's mean to be sarcastic.

But as for myself, I really like the commercials. I saw their booth at SoxFest and was wondering what that was about. Now I know.

Contrary to popular perception, the Southside is most assuredly not in a different time zone. Central Daylight Time is adhered to as rigidly down here as it is in the rest of Chicago. Regional anomalies, such as having a winning baseball team, have lead to a perception that the Southside is much further away than it actually is.

thats the best one

I live on the southside (hyde park). Those ads are hilarious.

The socioeconomic and cultural differences between the north and southside are profound. I find their niave and good intentioned attempts to bridge that gap to be adorable.

I actually really do like the commercials though. They are nailing the perception of the southside perfectly.

I agree , this campaign sucks the big one.

People who are not familiar with the southside may not even sense the sarcasm and just see it as a dorky ad.

They are capable of a much better marketing campaign.

I liked the ads.

I think it is a clever campaign.

i think its pretty damn funny

I love the concept. It is great they are finally targeting north siders. But I think the execution leaves a little bit to be desired. Why play into the stereotype by reinforcing them. I would have taken a different tact.

These are pretty funny.
