June 25, 200322 yr Halladay- 11-2, 3.57 ERA, 125 hits in 121.0 IP, 48 ER, 16 HR allowed, 96 K's, 15 SB's allowed, .294 OBA, 1.17 WHIP, 9.30 Hits per 9 IP Loaiza- 11-2, 1.99 ERA, 84 hits in 108.1 IP, 24 ER, 6 HR allowed, 90 K's, 3 SB's allowed, .268 OBA, 1.02 WHIP, 6.98 Hits per 9 IP Halladay should start right!
June 25, 200322 yr Author E-Lo also has better numbers than Jamie Moyer, Shawn Chacon, Kevin Brown, Cory Lidle, Mark Mulder, Mike Mussina, and EVERY other SP in the MLB!
June 25, 200322 yr THERE IS NO f***ING QUESTION WHO SHOULD MAKE THE START IN HIS OWN BACKYARD.... f*** ALL THOSE WHO HATE ON ELO :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou
June 25, 200322 yr And if he continues at this pace, he will NO DOUBT win the Cy Young award!!! And we're nowhere near out of the race right now...Imagine having Loaiza anchor us in a playoff series! That's 2 almost guaranteed victories right there, if he continued at this rate.
June 25, 200322 yr I would lose too much sleep over the AS game starter. He still has 3 more starts before then. Let's see if we still have a case.

I think Loaiza is the guy that should and will start the All-Star Game for the American League. He is also our most valuable player this year, hands down. If he can have a second half as good as the first has been, he will win the Cy Young Award.

June 25, 200322 yr When's the last time a guy came out of nowhere like ELO? It's amazing how this guy has aspired to mediocrity all his career and now he's putting it together.

Hey SS, since I was more then dead on in my E-Lo prediction when we first signed him, does that make us even for the Munoz and other bets/predictions?

June 25, 200322 yr It depends if Loaiza get bombed in one of his last few starts before the break. If he does, Halladay will start, if not, then I think E-Lo gets the nod.
June 25, 200322 yr Dan Patrick (I know, I know) was saying that he supports over Moyer for starter ove Halladay because of experience and blah blah blah. Not a mention about Loaiza. Does he deserve it? No doubt. Will he get it? Not a chance. The Nationals don't give a crap about ELo or the Sox. I'll bet a lot of them don't even know he's 11-2 let alone about all the stats mentioned above.
June 25, 200322 yr When's the last time a guy came out of nowhere like ELO? It's amazing how this guy has aspired to mediocrity all his career and now he's putting it together. For the White Sox that might be Sandy Consuegra. In 1954 he was 16-3. Before and after that he never won more than 7 games.

Like I said, Loaiza is easily forgotten about because of the lack of success of the team and the attention is more focused on Buehrle and Colon. Not surprising to me at all.

Give me a break! By the way, 500th post!!! I'm a starter!
June 25, 200322 yr Last week Baseball tonight discussed who should start for the AL in the all star game: Mussina, Moyer, or Halladay. I was like, are you serious? Halladay and Loaiza have to be a nod above the other 2 and he wasn't even mentioned.

June 25, 200322 yr Author Yeah, the Al manager picks the starter and if Scocia was smart, hed pick Loaiza. If Halladay or someone else starts, I see a fan running into the Al dugout and attacking Scocia! But seriously, Loaiza deserves it!
June 25, 200322 yr Has anybody looked ahead to see when his last start would be before the All-Star game? As a fan I would like to see him start, pitch one inning and get out. As far as the Sox's lack of success impacting his chances, why can't the argument be made that he's 11-2 dispite the horses*** season the Sox are having?

June 25, 200322 yr Author The biggest difference between pitchers (E-Lo and Halladay) is that Halladay pitches for a team that leads the league in run production. E-Lo pitches on a team that scores 2 runs a game!

Bingo....it's even more surprising that he's able to put up these numbers with a terrible offense and bullpen...if he's on the Jays he's won every start (not taking anything away from Halladay at all....however look at Lidle, who has about 10 wins with mediocre era and whip numbers)
