The Rangers are giving up Gonzalez and are only getting two prospects that aren't even considered top notch prospects. So if they were to deal Raffy Palmeiro what would it take to get him? If the Sox were to acquire Raffy I'd be guessing we'd have to part with Rauch and a couple other pitching prospects. CWSOX45

Our farm system isn't weak, it's not the strongest in the league either. Imagine Palmeiro in our line-up, he'd be perfect. As he would in most line-ups. Oh well it won't happen, but I just love dreaming about it. CWSOX45

He's only hitting .261 this year, and in my opinion he could be pretty cheap. Most guys start performing better as well if they come to a team that still has some chance of winning the division. CWSOX45 I don't mean his #'s have deteriorate, I mean his skills have deteriorated. He is a shadow of his former self. And the sad thing is he is still better than Mark Grace

He's not the missing piece of this puzzle but a nice addition. His history indicates he enjoys a change of scenery. His best year with the Orioles was his first and his best year with the Rangers part II was his first. The only team to dump him after his best season was the ScRubs.

We dont need another old guy hitting for power everytime up. We need a pesty guy that can get on-base and spark the team.
