Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the White Sox

That article makes me sick.

The White Sox do enough for the city. They don't need to knock on each and every door that has a flag with their logo hanging on it and thank them.

It took how long for someone to notice this article...

This is just some kid that never played sports because he had no athletic ability so he wastes his time trying to make professional teams look bad.

The White Sox weren't even aware the banner was there...

I have a banner up in my office, and I'm not pissed that they haven't thanked me. This is ridiculous.

I think it'd be good form for the Sox' front office to send a thank you on company letterhead. The CSO is a world-class organization and as a fellow denizen of the city, they're a neighbor. I wouldn't be surprised if it actually did happen and that someone from the White Sox didn't know about it.

But it's obvious to me that this blogger is looking for something to be pissed off about.

The arts community does not capture the public interest the way sporting events do. I'm aware of this, as I spent much of my time as a Visual Communications major publicly ridiculing my school's administration for doling out full-ride scholarships to basketball and baseball players who couldn't post records better than 1-24, while each art major was only getting about a grand, tops.

The whole point of the blogger was to make the Sox look bad for not hunting down and thanking everyone that put up any type of banner or flag though. Thats impossible and a waste of time.

What kind of organization the CSO is, is really irrelevant here.

Honestly, reading this blog is SOOOOOO ridiculous that I dont even know why it bothers me but it does. Its like reading something that says the sky is purple. It makes no sense and is a poor, poor attempt at making the White Sox organization look bad.

It' seems like its written by some fine arts snob that hates sports and looks for reasons to scoff at them.
