What place has the best onion rings?

 

I'm putting together a short list for the Daily Herald so I may follow up with some of you to get your name and town, etc. Personally I prefer Portillo's.

I dunno, I've always liked Culver's onion rings. Those are pretty much straight money.

Easy.

 

The Matchbox, bar/grill on Chicago and Ogden I believe, I have cousin works there they sell onion rings from the restraunt next door, not sure of the name but they are probably the best Ive had, not greasy, fried to perfection.

 

 

Although I dont know if you consider it onion rings but I love Outback Steakhouse bloomin onion.

I miss Hackney's.......

Red Robin has that awesome onion ring stacker...

Yeah, Hackneys. They ain't "rings", but they are the best form of an onion ever. I've heard God is even pissed he didn't think of making them like that.

 

They also have the best burgers in the world though.

Can't forget about the Bloomin' Onion at Outback Steakhouse... though not a ring.

Keep the suggestions coming. I could use some more.

I third the Bloomin Onion. That things great. Portillos are pretty good too.

I think Portillos "ring, drop a ring" onion rings are overrated, but that's JMO.

 

Hackney's onion loaf is the best but I second the opinion of the Red Robin onion tower.

 

The onion straws at Cheeseburgers in Paradise are pretty good too. But the sweet potato chips and the mini cheeseburgers there are the best.

 

No wonder I can't lose weight.

Let me ask this:

 

The people voting awesome blossoms and the Red Robin goofy tower, have you had a Hackney's Onion Loaf? Seriously, the tower thingy is just some beer battered rings on a skewer. Anyplace serving beer batter is just as good. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a beer batter ring as much as anybody, but they aren't that unusual.

I've always liked White Castle's onion rings... but yeah, the blooming onion destroys all other deep fried vegetables.

 

I don't know if any of you guys been there, but every 4th of July I go to rib fest, and they have a place that makes awesome blooming onions.
