Weird as it would be, Griffey would look good in LF

We might as well grab Jr Griffey from them, it would balance out them nabbing pedro lopez from us on waivers

Gotham Baseball has a rumor about certain Reds players being available since they are 10 games under .500 and 10 games out of first in the Central. Ryan Freel would look great leading off and playing LF for the Sox.

Didn't the Reds just sign Freel to an extension not long ago ? If so, I don't think they are trading him.

4. Ken Griffey Jr. to the White Sox

Griffey hasn't shown any willingness to go to New York when the opportunity has arisen. But maybe Chicago's more to his liking. It's a nice city with a nice team that still should have a chance, something that has eluded the Reds regularly. It's finally time to thrown in the towel on the great Griffey trade to his hometown team, an annual albatross for the also-running Reds.

 

The White Sox have been hurt by the injury to Jim Thome and could use the left-handed power Griffey provides. Griffey (eight homers, 26 RBIs, .297) is having a fine year. But he'd be much better off having the DH option, which could limit his own well-known propensity for pain.

 

If Griffey's looking to DH, the White Sox are the wrong team then.

Hmm now that could be an interesting fit.

 

You know Ned Colletti likes to trade prospects for veteran players, and isn't afraid to shake things up. I'd love to obtain Jonathan Broxton somehow, but we couldn't get him for Crede straight up I would have thought. But the Dodgers also have some other nice arms in Chin-huit Tsao (great work Rockies), and Yhency Brazoban who could maybe be had in the right offer.

 

The Dodgers also have some great prospects, especially pitching wise which could be something KW looks at. If we're talking about a fit for the outfield however, Andre Ethier could maybe be the guy. The Dodgers already have Pierre and Gonzalez in the OF, so maybe Ethier could be had. Kind of like an advanced Ryan Sweeney type of ballplayer really. Wilson Betemit could also be a good buy low player possibly who could be better in a change of scenery and hitting in a better ballpark. He had good numbers in 05 and 06.
