Maybe Matsui ISN'T a lock to end up in New York?

If the Sox were smart they'd get the Matsui that plays shorstop. The guy hit over .300 and hit 30+ hr's. He is very good defensively and super quick. His one weakness is he isn't too patient at the plate but he still should hit .300 or so with 20 hr's and 40-50 steals at the major league level.

Of course I would definately take this Matsui as our centerfielder. If Jr was smart he'd get him and then use Rowand or Lee to acquire Colon who doesn't make too much and the Sox attendance should shoot straight through the roof and he may just get the fans to start respecting him, especially cause a team like that would compete for it all.

No way, their payroll would be "to high".

Id love for Matsui to play here, but management knows hes going to be a bust.

I dont' think he's gonna be a bust. From all reports I've heard, the major leaguers think he's real good.

He plays good all around defense and I'm not sure what kind of speed he has, but he's supposed to be a great hitter.

The big reason he'd be a good signing is I think it would be a great way to get the Asian Market involved with the White Sox.

I'm not saying he's going to be a bust, I'm saying that KW will, for some reason, be against signing him.

Ya, of course I can't blame him. If it comes down to spending 10 mill on a pitcher or 10 mill on a centerfielder, I'd rather have the pitcher, considering the fact our offense is already good.

Still, I am intrigued at the thought of adding him. I'd still rather wait and pick up the shorstop named Matsui that comes out next year and sign the pitcher this year.

Boy am I dreaming :D
