July 14, 200718 yr Not a bad deal. Moore was probably the best option, but I'd think he will sign for more than the MLE, so that kinda eliminates him actually. Smith is a little bit better and more athletic than P.J., so i'd consider it a mild upgrade in that regard.

He is a solid player on both ends, but you know what you're getting with Smith. I still would have have much rather had Darko or Scola.

The MLE is 4.35 IIRC and Darko got 3/21. If they could have had him though, your right he is the best option. And I'm not a huge Scola fan, but that's just my opinion. Darko, at a cheaper cost, and as the starting PF for 2 year, starting C from then on, is much, MUCH better than 8 mil for Noc as a bench guy.
